yesterday the school nurse called. M had a 99.5 and 99.8 fever (which isn't really a fever for her since she normally runs slightly higher than the norm). and she had a rash. so i said i'd go pick her up after the "what do you want to do?" came from the nurse.
the rash was on her belly and arm. 2 doses of benedryl and a partial night's sleep and she woke up with them on her back and legs. the poor gal. she was so itchy. the pediatrician saw her today and confirmed it was hives caused most likely by a viral infection and may last up to a few weeks off and on. i was so happy i took photos yesterday because when we arrived today at the office, they were almost gone.
i called the nurse back today to tell her. and she seemed surprised. perhaps she's not really a nurse and one of those undercover wives from The Unit.

3 score and 6 yrs ago
this man was born.
G and i spent the weekend at my parents to celebrate my dad's birthday.
the weekend goes by too fast. and it's a far drive.
i hope they move closer.
i really hope he gets his wish.
(it was to see his age in numbers turned upside down.)
i love you, dad.

my mom, aka my hero/savior, took G home with her today. she arrived on monday because she missed us.
and i love that. saturday is my dad's birthday so i was planning on going home to visit. this sure worked out perfectly perfect. G is having a blast on his first overnighter without his sister or parents. sure hope nanny enjoys that 2am wakeup call!

Bucket List #68 Work In Progress
yesterday we committed ourselves.
ha. i should finish the sentence.
yesterday we committed ourselves to attempting bucket list item #68 this coming september.
paul and i are registered in the Adirondack Half Marathon this fall. half the pressure is on paul to make this count for me. in order for me to cross this off my list, we both have to finish. not together. but both have to finish. and i should note we're not running. it's a walk or a run. my personal goal will be to beat the time of the first half marathon i did.
anyone interested in joining us? seriously?
there is no commitment to stay with or finish with either one of us.
this race is open to only 600 entrants. and last year it filled up before june.
so think hard and think quickly.
and while we're asking...anyone up for babysitting two adorable children that day?
since it's right around my birthday, i would gladly consider this the best gift i could possibly receive. seriously. the best. go ahead, fight over it.
